Flexget does not "see" some releases (problem handling parentheses)

edit: I just realized that all the series that have been having problems are series with parentheses in their names in my config file. If a series is named "the xxxx" I have it in my config as (the) xxxx to be sure to catch all releases. Well, since an update some time in December, this filter has been failing to match releases named the.xxxx.s??.e??.whatever. Has there been some deliberate change to how parentheses are handled or is this a bug?
